The National Shearwater Class Owners Association (NSCOA)
debuted some new ideas at the RYA Dinghy and Watersports Show in February 2022.

With an enviable reputation for friendliness coupled with a professional outlook, the Shearwater Class Association exhibited at the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show in February 2022 (and again in 2023 & 2024). Focusing on growing the family friendly class, the Association showcased the newest Shearwater catamaran to hit the water since 2013. Owned and sailed by the father and son duo who assembled it, the boat features new ideas such as, extensive use of carbon composites, unique sail controls and innovative thinking for ease of sailing for the crew. These features were shown to the class for the first time and created a lot of public interest.Super competitive on the water, the Shearwater catamaran was launched in the 1950s. Boats can be constructed of any material but as a restricted development class with a symmetrical spinnaker, the boats are unique. The class have a unique mix of ultra-competitive racing with a family ethos that crosses ages from newborn to 70 years+. More details can be read at the following link: yachtsandyachting.com
